“Konnichiwa” (Hello)

Above is a picture of Sara-Beth and I in Tokyo, Japan seven years ago. Sara-Beth grew up in Japan as a missionary child until she went to college at James Madison University. I grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and also went to JMU, where I met Sara-Beth. For most of Sara-Beth’s life and the last 10 years of my life, God has not only been cultivating our relationship with Him through Christ Jesus, but has also strongly burdened our hearts for the lost among the un-reached nations. We went to Japan as missionaries for two years and as a family God confirmed our call as long-term missionaries. In January 2011, Mission to the World approved us as long-term missionaries in South Asia, where we hope to help start a team in a much needed area of the world. Currently I am in seminary, hoping to complete a Masters of Divinity in preparation for ordination. We are hoping to leave for South Asia in the fall of 2012.

Why Asia?

My heart, increasingly over the past decade, has been drawn to areas of the world where Jesus’s name has never been proclaimed. The “10/40 Window,” which stretches across Asia has many groups of people who have never heard about Christ. Sara-Beth grew up in Asia and also has a heart to see un-reached peoples come to know Him. Together we have prayed, lived, and visited parts of Asia and are committed serving as missionaries in South Asia with Mission to the World.

Mission To The World (MTW)

In case you were wondering, Mission To The World (MTW) is the mission-sending agency of the Presbyterian Church in America. Their mission, and ours, is to see the Gospel shared in word and deed throughout the world.
