I haven’t had much time to get on here and update everyone on what has been going on in our lives these last few weeks; and with all the excitement of babies, I haven’t wanted to post on anything but those two cuties.
We are officially moved out of Harrisonburg. We left yesterday morning after visiting the hospital and are now in PA with the family. Tomorrow morning, we will drive to Newark to see Danny and Kimberly and Daniel Josiah and they will drive us into New York City and to our new apartment there. We will be living in Queens for the month of July.
It was REALLY hard to leave Harrisonburg but the Lord gave a sweet last few weeks there. We have had such fun with some of the people dearest to us.
The Sinks came into town for a night and we were able to have lunch with them. Noa LOVES seeing Kathryn and every time they interact more and seem closer in age. Noa was trying to show Kathryn how to sit up.
MORE FUN THINGS:
Another great thing about the last few weeks was getting to go out to the Masts’ house and enjoy their beautiful property. They have a creek that the kids love wading in and Noa was no exception.
Noa is also big enough now to sit in the cart by herself at the grocery store. She loves helping Mama shop.
And a HUGE blessing was Aunt Hannah coming to town and getting to spend lots of time together. She was an incredible help watching Noa and packing. I couldn’t have done it without her.
Aunt Carly had another baby shower that we got all dressed up for. My Aunt Jane threw it at their new home in Lexington so it was great to finally get to see their place. It was also great because Trudy, Carly’s mum, was there and told some great stories of Carly growing up. Esther, Carly’s sister, has been here too and she made the most adorable Kangaroo cake (and she made it free hand!) Its been so nice have Trudy and Esther here and especially to watch Carly enjoy this special time with them.
One of the greatest blessings in our first two years of marriage has been our home group. We have loved the fellowhip and learning that we have had through this amazing group of people. We have also loved it because there are LOTS of kids in our home group so we’ve had fun watching other parents and learning from them.
Here are Ray and Drew braving a walk to the park with all the kids last Sunday.
And here is Noa with her friends Micah, Josie, and Collin.
And here is Eric with the Reid kids at their swim meet. We were waiting to see if it would be called because of lightning or if the races would happen. They did end up swimming and it was SO FUN to watch each of them do so well.
And of course you all need to see Noa’s first pedicure, lovingly done by her Aunt Hannah. Just another chance to flaunt her beautiful legs ![]()
I don’t have much time to write but here are some photos of the new precious people in our lives. Here is Liam Chase
And Phoebe Evangeline Cole, born early Friday morning and weighing in at 6 lbs. 4 oz.
Mama Carly with her sweet baby boy – can you believe she just had a baby?!?!
Noa meeting her cousin for the very first time… doesn’t she look happy to finally see him?
I wrote Carly a card the other day and all I could say was: Can you really believe we’re actually MOTHERS?!?!? There is great joy in sharing this rich and wonderful stage of life with my best friend with whom I have shared so many other stages… since we were 11!
Here’s Noa meeting her other BF, Phoebe (don’t worry Kathryn, you girls will be like the 3 muskateers…)
Well, little William “Liam” David Chase made his way into the world this afternoon via c-section. Weighing in at 8 lbs 10oz, he is absolutely beautiful and Mom and baby are doing great. Please do keep praying for the Chases as they adjust and for Carly as she heals. I haven’t put pictures up yet but you can see this cute kiddo at http://eggz-e.blogspot.com/ Enjoy!
As for Sarah’s little girl, she is being very stubborn and staying nice and cozy inside mamma’s belly. Please keep praying for Sarah and for Levi as they wait. Thank you so much for your prayers for these precious friends.
Throughout this last year, Eric and I have had the privilege of anticipating the births of many of our dearest friends’ babies. It has been so exciting to pray for these little lives as God has shaped and grown them for the past months and we are thrilled to finally get to meet them. Two very soon coming babies are Baby Cole and Baby Chase.
Sarah (Cole) is due in a month but has had a lot of false labor and discomfort from the baby running out of room in her torso. Last night she went into the hospital because it was so bad and they were convinced it was the real thing but were sent home this morning only to anticipate a little more and stay quite uncomfortable. PLEASE PRAY for Sarah as she waits for God’s timing for the birth of their daughter. If you’ve had a baby, you know its so hard to wait, especially if you thought it was coming much sooner. Please pray for her as she is very sick from the baby having no room and so is very uncomfortable. And of course, please pray for the safe and healthy delivery of this precious little girl.
We’d also love to ask you to pray for our niece or nephew, Baby Chase, who is growing inside Carly. He or She is just like cousin Noa who was breech at this point and had to be manually turned. Carly is trying alternative measures this next week to try to get the baby to turn, but if not, she will go in next wednesday to have the baby turned manually. If the baby doesn’t turn at all, the doctors will do a c-section. PLEASE PRAY that this kid would turn on his own so that Carly can go into labor naturally. And again, please pray that, no matter what the method, that this precious one would arrive safely into the outside world.
We love these two families so much and these babies are already so dear to our hearts. We really appreciate you joining us in asking God’s will to be done and for Him to be glorified in these, the lives of His children.
