Like I mentioned earlier, we celebrated Chris France’s graduation last weekends. Instead of Uncle France, He is now Uncle Doctor France. He is a Doctor of Audiology now and grew big ears from it. They kinda scared Noa…

Congratulations, Uncle Doctor France!

Sorry to have kept you, our faithful readers, waiting. I haven’t been able to get online much recently.
We have had an exciting week and a half since our last post. First off, Noa’s Granddaddy came all the way from Japan to see how much she has grown!

What a sweet and precious time it was to get to visit with my (Sara-Beth’s) Daddy and to hear about our family and future team-mates in Japan. It was truly an encouragement, especially when support raising can seem long and never-ending. Its nice to indulge a little and think ahead to what life will be like once we are finally at our new home! Thanks for coming, Dad! We LOVED seeing you!
Next, along came Cousin Daniel Josiah with Aunt Kimberly and IverBaby.

Daniel Josiah showed Noa all the big kid things he does like walking, eating grilled cheese sandwiches, drinking out of a sippy cup, and grunting. They were VERY entertained by each other and it was so fun to watch them interact. We can’t wait to meet D.J.’s little brother or sister, due in August. Thanks for taking the time to come see us, you three! (Kimberly and IverBaby not pictured)
Next, the Sink Family and Noa’s best friend, Kathryn came and had a double-night sleepover… Noa’s first and it was FUN.

Cristen and I loved getting the girls to hug and kiss and grab and hit (not hard or on purpose) each other. They are only 3 months apart and as they get older, it seems less and less. Its already clear they will be very good friends one day, maybe even roommates at JMU together… who knows! Anyway, it was wonderful for us to be with these precious friends and we’re so thankful they could come. (They were in town to celebrate Chris France’s graduation- more pictures to come)
Then, early this week, Sophie and Hannah came over to play while their moms volunteered at Eric’s school.

Both of these girls and their families have become incredibly precious to us in our time here in Harrisonburg. It was so fun to watch them and play. My favorite moment was when we were talking about what they wanted to be when they grew up. When I asked Hannah, who literally asked to hold Noa every 2 minutes, what she wanted to be, she looked at me like I was crazy and said, “a mommy!” (as in, “what else, you crazy lady!) What a refreshing perspective for me to see, especially when it sometimes feels like our society doesn’t seem to think of mothering as a very important or exciting job. Thanks, Hannah, for reminding of how blessed I am to do what I do.

And that’s what we’ve been up to. I have more photos to post so stay tuned. Thanks for checking in with us!
