Noa loves being close to both mom and dad at the same time. Whether it’s between us in our bed on Saturday mornings, looking up at both of us from her crib before she goes to sleep at night, or just being anywhere where she knows we’re both close by. Its so fun to watch her look back and forth between both of us and just beam (its also really good for our self-esteem, she really thinks we’re pretty great!) Anyway, she loves a good family hug or, as we sometimes call it, a Noa Sandwhich. can you tell?

our friend Levi has been greatly needing a job change for numerous reasons (including expecting a child in july) and we have been praying for one specific job. when they didn’t contact him when they said, i had some doubting thoughts, but we prayed nontheless. today, they called him and he got the job and it is even a better situation than previously thought! praise God! congrats Levi

this was the second of two major prayer requests for close friends. both were answered abundantly and beyond our prayers. i confess i pray at times in doubt, fear, obligation, without faith…praise God for the Holy Spirit…”in the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” rom 8:26

once again showing me its all about Him.

Well, I think that Noa can finally be counted among the babies who sleep through the night. Now, for the last two and half months she’s been sleeping about 8 hours at night but it was always because I woke her up one last time before I go to bed (around 10) to feed her enough to hold her off until at least 6am. Well, the other day the doctor suggested that I skip that last feeding and just see if she could go until morning (so that she doesn’t get in the habit of waking up to eat late at night). Well, we tried it first on Saturday night: she ate at 7, went to bed at 8 and woke up at 5:30 in the morning. Not bad but still “a little sketchy” as my friend Brooke said. Last night, however, same thing except that we were at a super bowl party and she was in and out of sleep for the first 2 hours of her night and then she slept until almost 7!! Thats almost 12 hours in between meals! I never thought this day would come but I am super glad it is here. I was a little nervous when the doctor suggested this because that means Noa is only getting 4 meals a day. His response: “Do ya think she’s starvin’?” (hmmm, uh, nope!)

My mom has this beautiful little dress that she wore when she was a baby that she just sent over from Japan for Noa to wear. We got it just in time because a few more weeks and Noa wouldn’t fit in it. Here she is posing for pictures all pretty in pink.

as a kindergarten teacher, i have realized that my mind, thoughts, and speech are becoming more and more like that of a 5 year old (just ask my wife). i was struck with that when i woke up today and saw the date on the clock. i created a joke almost immediately…

which day is a ballerina’s favorite day of the year?
