on sunday afternoon harrisonburg got hit with some snow and ice which ended up in a spontaneous afc championhsip football gathering at our place. we all ended up rooting for the colts as they played their nemesis team, the patriots. it was a blast to watch together, the game was a thriller. one thing that surprised us all was seeing how vocal both the indianapolis colts coach (tony dungy) and owner (i didn’t catch his name) were for God at the trophy presentation. they thanked Him, humbly honored Him, and credited the win to Him. it refreshing and neat to see and hear.
changing an old penn state line (and yes the eagles are my team, but now that they’re done, its always fun to root for someone)
if God isn’t a colts fan then why is the sky blue and white?
and its not just dungy. lovie smith too, the coach of the bears, is a man who knows the importance of faith. check it out…

on tuesday we shared that we were at 7% (financial support to go to Japan) and asked for prayer. we want to let you know that God doubled our support account through various supporters the last 2 days and we are now at 15% which Sara-Beth and I are very thankful for and excited about. praise God! please continue to pray for us as we are still in the beginning stages, but we are hoping to be in japan when school starts (where i will teach) this september.
i lift up my eyes to the hills-
where does my help come from?
my help comes from the Lord,
the maker of heaven and earth.
psalm 121:1-2
This is our first attempt at posting a video clip. We had a little fun with it thanks to imovie. Hope you enjoy!
Noa has really enjoyed some big changes in her life recently. I think that ever since she rolled over last week, I have been much more willing to let her try some other “big girl” things.
Like her “exer-saucer” (I just learned what it was called yesterday). This is great because, unlike her blanker, she has a great view of what’s going on around her (espceially pinpointing wherever mom is). Not only that but the seat turns 360 degrees so she uses her feet to look all around her. its great!
And also Daddy’s backpack. I was a little hesitant when Eric wanted to take her in this for a walk the other day but he convinced me and she LOVED it. She was kinda fussy and cranky while I was getting her bundled up but as soon as she was up high on his back, her eyes got real big and she just started smiling all over the place. It was so sweet and a special time for her and Dad.
sara-beth and i are currently at 7% as we are support raising. we have found support raising to be a joy. we are able to enjoy relationships, as well as share about the deep spiritual needs of the japanese. please pray for us as we seek strength, diligence, wisdom, and dependence on Christ.
some friends of ours that are in language school in japan did some stat finding. i knew that japan was an “unreached people group” but did not realize it was indeed the largest unreached people group in the world.
here’s the link, with the stats… http://thepfeilfiles.blogspot.com
